In the structural rehabilitation of the bridges on the S.S. 309 ‘Romea’ in Chioggia (VE), Metalsan built the new decks of the Aleghero and Otregan bridges, for a total length of 150 metres and a total weight of 425 tons: 350 tons for the Aleghero bridge and 75 tons for the Otregan bridge. The work was carried out in two phases, dividing the work along the longitudinal axis. First, work was carried out on one lane, keeping the other in operation, and then the second half was completed. The end segments were launched with a 450-tonne crane, while the centre segments were laid by means of an equipped pontoon. Upon completion of the launch, the bolted joints were reworked to ensure corrosion protection in accordance with the C5VH environment specification.
